    Hi Paul! Welcome to HubPages!

I see that right now you've got a Hubber score of 28 and you signed up four hours ago. Here's what you can expect, if my trajectory as a fellow newbie can be used as an example:

    * I started with a Hubber score of 24. This rose to 75 in just under six days.

    * During those initial six days, I published several Hubs, read and commented on other Hubs, tweaked my profile to make it as interesting and user-friendly as possible, did lots of reading in the Learning Center to help me abide by the rules and joined every earnings program except eBay (which I'll work on a bit later).

    * I'm now on Day 8, Hubber score of 88, I have 7 Hubs published, I'm a Level 2 Commenter and I've added answering questions to my daily HubSpot activities.

During a HubSpot focus group I attended on my third or fourth day, I learned that you can increase your score quickly by doing these basic things because the system is eager to prove that you're not a spammer. It's not hard to prove, but I must say I put quite a few man hours into it. I wanted to start strong, and raising your Hubber score is one way to start strong.

Best of luck with your Hubbing! You're going to find this to be a really fun place!

P.S. I reached Level 1 Commenter within the first 3 days and it took 11 eleven comments to obtain that accolade. I truly believe in the value of "detailed and engaging" comments, so the time I put into it was well worth it.

Whoops, I see I've answered you based on "Hubber" score, not Hub score. I have much less knowledge or experience about that so I won't try to address that one. Hopefully the info on Hubber score will be helpful to you, as well. :~)

Most people on the site would probably say they try to get individual Hubs up into the 80s or higher, but well-written Hubs that don't get much traffic might score in the 60s or 70s.  Individual Hubs go up and down in score, as does everything on the site, so no score stays in one spot forever.

One score benchmark that is important is to get your AuthorScore up to 75 or higher, as that is the point where any outgoing links on your Hubs switch from "no-follow" to "do-follow" which is beneficial for your Hubs in the eyes of the search engines.
